What distinguishes Jiangsu Liangyi is metallurgical control from melt to finished part. Every Hastelloy X billet starts with VIM/ESR (Vacuum Induction Melting + Electro-Slag Remelting) or VIM/VAR (Vacuum Induction Melting + Vacuum Arc Remelting) double melting, which removes trace impurities and produces a clean, homogeneous ingot. Tight control of phosphorus (≤0.020%) and sulfur (≤0.010%) is achievable where customers specify aerospace-grade limits such as GE B50A463.

Forming is performed on a 4,000-ton fast forging press and a 2,000-ton hydraulic press for open-die work up to 30 tons, or on a ring-rolling mill producing seamless rings up to 5,000 mm outer diameter with high roundness and minimal machining allowance. A minimum 3:1 forging ratio and multi-directional working give a uniform ASTM No. 6 fine grain, verified per ASTM E112. Fine grain raises yield strength at elevated temperature, improves thermal-fatigue and vibration resistance in turbines, and keeps ductility consistent batch to batch.

Solution heat treatment follows AMS 2750 pyrometry: a controlled ramp (≤150 °C/h) to 1163–1175 °C, soak proportional to section thickness (about 2.5 min per mm), then rapid water quench or forced-air cooling to lock the solution structure and suppress grain-boundary carbides and mu-phase. Jiangsu Liangyi records the full heat-treatment curve, 100×/500× metallographic images and hardness (typically HB 170–230) for every batch.

Inspection on each lot of UNS N06002 forgings includes 100% chemical verification by optical emission spectrometer, room- and high-temperature tensile testing (ASTM E8), stress-rupture (ASTM E139), grain-size estimation (ASTM E112), ultrasonic testing to AMS-STD-2154 Level A and dye-penetrant to ASTM E165. Every shipment carries EN 10204 3.1 mill test reports in triplicate; EN 10204 3.2 certificates from SGS, BV or TÜV are available on request.

Manufacturing and testing references: AMS 5754, AMS 5536, ASTM B572, ASME SB564 and DIN 17744 (W.Nr. 2.4665), plus GE, Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney specifications where the customer requires them. Note: UNS N06002, W.Nr. 2.4665 (NiCr22Fe18Mo) and Alloy X denote the same Hastelloy X grade — Jiangsu Liangyi manufactures to both American and European systems.
