Jiangsu Liangyi is an ISO 9001:2015-certified stainless steel forging manufacturer in Jiangyin, China, producing FV520B / W.Nr. 1.4594 / X5CrNiMoCuNb14-5 forged steel — seamless rolled rings, turbine blades, bars, discs and custom open-die parts — to AMS 5773E. FV520B / 1.4594 is a martensitic precipitation-hardening stainless (13Cr-6Ni-2Mo-2Cu-Nb), and getting its full combination of strength and corrosion resistance depends on tight melting chemistry and a precise multi-stage heat-treatment cycle — both controlled in-house.

Melting route (AMS 5773E purity): primary melting in a 60 t / 40 MVA electric arc furnace (EAF); secondary refining by ladle furnace (LF) plus tank degassing (VD / VOD) for precise chemistry; remelting by Electro-Slag Remelting (ESR, max 32 t) or Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR) for low inclusion content and high purity; and bottom-pouring ingot casting for segregation control. This route is what keeps FV520B / X5CrNiMoCuNb14-5 clean enough for aerospace and high-fatigue turbine-blade service.

Heat treatment (AMS 5773E, 3-stage): Jiangsu Liangyi solution-treats FV520B / 1.4594 at 1050 °C with air cool, then applies a first precipitation at 750 °C for 2 h (air cool) and a final precipitation at 550 °C for 2 h (air cool). The double-precipitation cycle develops the copper- and niobium-bearing precipitates that give the grade its strength while preserving toughness and corrosion resistance.

Resulting properties (AMS 5773E, RT): tensile 925–1090 MPa, yield ≥800 MPa, elongation ≥15%, hardness 274–341 HBW and Charpy impact ≥55 J — with corrosion resistance comparable to 304 stainless and superior pitting/intergranular behaviour to 17-4PH.

Forging capability: open-die hydraulic presses of 3200 t, 4200 t and 6000 t with 60 t manipulators, forging furnaces to 150 t, hydrogen bake-out furnaces (to 14 m), semi-automatic heat treatment for turbine blades, heat-treatment furnaces to 18 m and quench tanks to 16 m — supporting both mass production and fully custom FV520B forgings.

Inspection & documentation: chemistry, mechanical and heat-treatment records per heat, with EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2 mill test reports and SGS / BV / TÜV third-party inspection on request. Manufacturing standard: AMS 5773E.

Grade note: FV520B (the original British trade name) and W.Nr. 1.4594 / X5CrNiMoCuNb14-5 (EN) are the same precipitation-hardening stainless grade — Jiangsu Liangyi certifies forgings to AMS 5773E and EN documentation as required.

Why the grade performs: the 2% molybdenum and 2% copper additions on a 13Cr-6Ni base are what lift FV520B / 1.4594 above conventional 17-4PH — molybdenum drives the pitting and crevice resistance needed in chloride and marine service, while copper-niobium precipitates carry the strength. The higher nickel (5–6%) also gives a more stable, tougher martensite. Net result: 304-class general corrosion resistance, excellent pitting/intergranular resistance and good weldability with matching consumables, so fabricated and repair-welded turbine and marine parts keep their properties in the heat-affected zone.

Verified capability: Jiangsu Liangyi supplied FV520B / 1.4594 turbine blades and seamless rolled rings for 600 MW steam turbines in Europe (three years, zero wear, deformation or corrosion); FV520B pump and valve parts for a Middle Eastern offshore oilfield (zero failures in two years of seawater / crude exposure); FV520B seamless rolled rings and high-strength fasteners for offshore drilling platforms in Japan (minimal rusting after four years of marine service); and FV520B fasteners and small turbine parts for a Southeast-Asian aerospace MRO, to AMS 5773E.
