Jiangsu Liangyi is an ISO 9001:2015-certified stainless steel forging manufacturer in Jiangyin, China, producing Custom 450 / XM-25 / UNS S45000 / Alloy 450 forged steel — open-die forgings and seamless rolled rings — to ASTM A564 (XM-25) and AMS 5773E. Custom 450 / S45000 is a martensitic age-hardenable stainless (14–16Cr, 6–7Ni, Mo-Cu-Nb), and its value comes from clean melting plus a simple, repeatable single-step aging cycle — both controlled in-house.

Melting and cleanliness: every Custom 450 / Alloy 450 heat begins in a basic electric arc furnace (EAF), then is refined by Electro-Slag Remelting (ESR) or Vacuum-Arc Remelting (VAR). This dual-melt route delivers ASTM E45 Method D cleanliness (maximum inclusion rating 2 thin / 1½ heavy) and a prior austenitic grain size of ASTM No. 5 or finer per ASTM E112 — the cleanliness level nuclear and aerospace forgings demand. For nuclear pressure-vessel rings Jiangsu Liangyi has met ASTM No. 4 prior austenitic grain size with full third-party NDT.

Heat treatment (AMS 5773E): unlike multi-step PH grades, Custom 450 / XM-25 reaches full properties with a single aging step. Jiangsu Liangyi solution-treats at 1040 °C ±15 °C (hold 45 min to 2.5 h) with forced-air cool or water quench, straightens before aging, then ages at 575 °C ±5 °C for a minimum 4 h with air cool; an optional stress-relief anneal (≥540 °C, at least 10 °C below the aging temperature) is available. All temperatures are controlled to the centre of the heaviest section via load thermocouples, and the temperature-time curve is documented per batch.

Resulting properties (AMS 5773E, RT): tensile 965–1210 MPa, yield ≥830 MPa, elongation ≥16%, reduction of area ≥50%, hardness 302–363 HB and Charpy impact ≥68 J — with corrosion resistance equal to AISI 304 stainless.

Capability: single forged pieces from 30 kg to 30,000 kg, 120,000 tonnes/year capacity, supporting bars, seamless rolled rings, discs, hollow forgings and fully custom open-die parts.

Why the single-step route matters commercially: many PH stainless grades need multi-step double-aging to balance strength and toughness. Custom 450 / XM-25 reaches its full property set — tensile to 1210 MPa with Charpy ≥68 J — in one aging step, which shortens the heat-treatment cycle, reduces furnace time and cost, and improves batch-to-batch repeatability. For buyers this means competitive pricing and short lead times without sacrificing the cleanliness and grain control that nuclear and aerospace parts require.

Inspection & documentation: cleanliness (ASTM E45 Method D), grain size (ASTM E112), delta-ferrite by magnetic-particle method, full mechanical testing, NDT and a complete inspection report with heat number, melting-method certificate and traceability for every order. Third-party inspection available on request.

Grade note: Custom 450, XM-25 (ASTM A564), UNS S45000 and Alloy 450 are the same grade. It is an American grade with no direct EN/Werkstoff number — the nearest comparable European PH grades are 1.4542 / 1.4594, but Jiangsu Liangyi certifies to ASTM A564 and AMS 5773E for an exact match.
