The overlock sewing machine is also called a
sidecar, a yarder, and a bone
car. It is generally divided into three lines, four lines, and
five lines.
The main function is generally to prevent the seam of the garment
from
fluffing. The overlock sewing machine can not only be used for
hemming, but
also can be used for sewing T-shirts, sportswear, underwear,
knitting and
other fabrics. Overlock machine cutting and sewing can be carried
out at
the same time, the stitches are like mesh, and it is also
suitable for
elastic fabrics.
Overlock stitches can be divided into single, double, three,
four, five and
so on.
1. Single-thread overlock is a single-needle one-thread stitch,
which is
mainly used to sew the edge of the blanket;
2. Double-thread overlock is a single-needle double-thread
stitch, which is
mainly used to sew parts with high elasticity, such as the bottom
edge of a
stretch shirt;
3. The three-thread overlock is a single-needle three-thread
stitch, which
is a common stitch for ordinary knitted garments, especially the
stitching
of some low-grade garments;
4. The four-thread overlock is a double-needle four-thread
stitch. Compared
with the three-thread overlock, one needle thread is added, and
the
strength is improved. It is used for sewing parts of higher-grade
garments
or is stretched more, and the friction is stronger. Parts such as
shoulders
and sleeves, especially the sewing of outerwear;
5. Five-thread overlock is a double-needle five-thread stitch,
which
further improves the stitch fastness and production efficiency,
and has
better elasticity than four-thread overlock. It is often used in
the sewing
of outerwear and underwear.
