Soya is one of the most widely cultivated plants in the world, being grown for its oil and protein rich edible seed. The himalayan white soabean is rich in protien and low on fat (12%) unlike common soyabean from the plains of Madhya Pradesh, India which contains about 40% fat. Becasue of its low fat content, it is majorly used in making health food supplements like soya milk, soya flour, enery rich tofu etc.
