classification of titanium anode
Metal oxide coated titanium electrodes are differentiate as gas that is produced on the anode in electrochemical reaction.If chlorine produce on the anode,this kind of anode called chlorine evolution anode,such as mixed Ru-Ir oxide coated titanium anodes.If there is oxygen produced on the anode,it wil be called oxygen evolution anodes,such as mixed Ir-Ta oxide coated titanium anode,platinum titanium anodes and lead oxide titanium anodes.
The advantages of tittanium anode and MMO coated titanium anode
1.Dimension stable;it's unchangeable for space between electrodes during electrolysis;cell voltage is stable that makes electrolysis operation guaranteed well.
2.Lower working voltage and small energy consumption;the key reasons of working under lower voltage:
①Activated coated titanium anodes have lower over potential to chlorine and oxyen;
②It can make "Bubble Shielding Effect" done.There is small bubbles produced around titanium anode surface,and they are fast to move away.Because of that,gas-filling rate reduced.At the same time,resistance between electrodes is gone done.
③The distance between eletrodes is shortened.
3.Titanium anodes have longer working life.
4.Compared with soluble graphite anode and lead anode ,titanium anode are avoiding any pollution to electrolyte and products on cathode.It can make the metal purity increase.
5.Increasing current density is avaliable,which can boost production efficency.
6.It can be worked in stronger corrosive medium or oter special medium because of its better anti-carrosion property.
7.Short circuit is easily happened if lead anode is out of shape during working.However,titanium anode can avoid this problem and increase current efficienty.
8.Light weight can easily to be installed.
9.Different shape is available with high accuracy.
