As a chained condensation compound of
phosphate soluble in water, it has two existing forms:
Na5P3O10(Anhydrous) and Na5P3O10•6H2O(Crystal). The specific
gravity of Na5P3O10•6H2O is 2.12, that of Na5P3O10 is 0.5-0.6,
melting point for both is 622°C. Anhydrous Na5P3O10 is capable
of absorbing humidity with its aqueous solution being
alkalinity and will be hydrolyzed to ortho-phosphates; It can
have emulsification, suspension and dispersion of mud and oil;
it has strong buffering effects with PH value between
4.3-14.
