Organic Shea butter from Ghana, West Africa by a subsidiary of Glinco Ghana Limited, a company with an export licence based in Ghana, West Africa.

Our Shea butter is a vegetable fat extracted from sun-dried kernels of the shea tree Vitellaria paradoxa. The shea tree grows in the shea belt. Vitellaria paradoxa grows mainly in Western Africa or Ghana. Our shea butter is denser and has a high melting point yet is harder in consistency. Our product is tested and approved by the Food and Drugs Authority.

The Shea butter we export have;

· Higher concentration of vitamin A

· Lower concentration of oleic acid

· Higher concentration of sterol

Due to the high content of Vitamin A, in the shea butter we produce in Ghana, our product can be used to treat

· Stretch marks

Our Shea butter can be used in the cosmetic and personal care industry. Some of its main applications are:

· hair treatment products for damaged and dry hair;

· anti-ageing and anti-wrinkle creams;

· stretch mark prevention products during pregnancy;

· hair treatment for dry scalp;

Shea butter is used as a moisturising body butter in products. This is because of its emollient properties, particularly its ability to soften the skin along with treating dry skin areas.

Product Specification: Our product is a vegetable fat derived from the kernels of the shea nut (nut kernels from the tree) scientifically known as Vitellaria paradoxa, C.F. Gaertn (synonyms: Butyrospermum paradoxum, Butyrospermum parkii), from the Sapotaceae family.

Unrefined shea butter is the oleaginous material obtained from the nut kernel of the Vitellaria paradoxa, C.F. Gaertn (synonyms: Butyrospermum paradoxum, Butyrospermum parkii), from the Sapotaceae family by manual or mechanical methods. It is obtained through a thermal process or cold pressed, which does not alter the nature of the fat. It can be purified by washing with water, settling, filtering and centrifuging

Our Unrefined shea butter is intended for direct consumption, or as an ingredient in the manufacture of certain products.

The Shea butter shall be stored and handled under hygienic conditions while maintaining their physio-chemical and microbiological characteristics.

General Characteristics

Our unrefined shea butter is not be mixed with other fats. It is free of all foreign matter.

Organoleptic characteristics

The product shall have the characteristic colour, aroma and flavour of unrefined shea butter and be free from any rancidity. The colour varies from ivory-coloured to yellowish.

Quality criteria

The unrefined shea butter has met the quality criteria specified by the Food and Drugs Authority of Ghana.

No food additives are permitted for use in our unrefined shea butter.
