Reduced iron powder

Reduced iron powder is a gray or black powder dominated by elemental iron, also known as "double absorbent", which is generally reduced by ferric oxide in hydrogen gas stream or carbon monoxide gas stream under high temperature conditions. Because the reduced iron powder itself is powdery and its microstructure is very loose, its surface is very active and can absorb water and oxygen in the air. It is often used for food preservation and as a high-quality reducing agent in chemical production and laboratory operation.

The iron powder produced by reduction method has Fe ≥ 98%, carbon ≤ 0.03%, phosphorus and sulfur less than 0.03%, and hydrogen loss of 0.1 ~ 0.2%.

The main uses of reduced iron powder are:

① As the raw material of powder metallurgy products, the consumption accounts for about 60 ~ 80% of the total consumption of iron powder

② As the raw material of electrode, adding 10 ~ 70% iron powder into the coating can improve the welding process of electrode and significantly improve the deposition efficiency

③ As a spray for flame cutting, when cutting steel, iron powder is sprayed into oxyacetylene flame, which can improve the cutting performance, expand the range of cutting steel and increase the cutting thickness

④ It can also be used as reducing agent in organic chemical synthesis, copier ink carrier, etc.

⑤ Used for diamond saw blade matrix to increase the strength of diamond coating and reduce manufacturing cost.
