LNG, or Liquefied Natural Gas, is natural gas that has been cooled to a liquid state, primarily for easier and more cost-effective transportation over long distances. This cooling process, called liquefaction, reduces the volume of natural gas by approximately 600 times, making it a more manageable fuel for shipping. LNG is a clear, odorless, colorless, non-toxic, and non-corrosive liquid at extremely low temperatures, typically around -162°C (-260°F).
