Bouko found a pair of ordinary socks at home and suddenly had an idea. Remembering a time he had almost slipped but found that using anti-slip glue actually helped, he decided to try applying a bit of it to the bottom of the socks himself. He didn’t overthink it—he just wanted his grandfather to walk a little more steadily.
After letting them dry, he gave the socks to his grandfather to try.
A few days later, when Bouko came home, his grandfather was moving around the living room as usual. His steps were still careful, but he didn’t seem to slip as easily as before. He didn’t make a big deal out of it, just casually said:
“These socks are pretty good—feel more stable when walking.”
The tone was simple, but Bouko remembered it.
In that moment, he wasn’t thinking about technology or performance. It just felt like sometimes, a small change—if it helps someone you care about feel a little safer—is already worth it.
