Ponmo is edible cow skin prepared by butchers. It is a delicious part of beef used as a condiment in many soups and enjoyed as a snack and as an appetizer.

Suitable for Nigerian cooking and in the preparation of sauce, stew, vegetable, efo riro, edikaikong, oha, afang soup and so much more.

It is found mostly in the South-west (among the Yorubas) but also in other parts of Nigeria. It is considered or taken as a frugal replacement for meat, beef, chicken, and fish in stews, soups and dishes across Nigeria.
