What is cooling tower?
The cooling tower is a device that uses water as a circulating
coolant to absorb heat from a system and discharge it into the
atmosphere to reduce the temperature of the water; its cooling is
the use of water and air flow contact to perform cold and heat
exchange to generate steam, steam volatilization Evaporative heat
dissipation devices that take away heat to achieve evaporative
heat dissipation, convective heat transfer and radiant heat
transfer to dissipate waste heat generated in industry or
refrigeration and air conditioning to reduce water temperature to
ensure the normal operation of the system.
Working principle of cooling tower:
By spraying the circulating water onto the glass fiber filler.
The filler provides a larger contact surface, through the contact
of water and air, to achieve heat exchange effect. Then, a fan
drives the air flow in the tower to circulate the hot air flow
after heat exchange with water to achieve cooling. Filling may
include multiple, mostly vertical, water-based elements on which
the wet surface spreads (filling) or lateral splash elements
create many cascades of thin layers (splashing) of small droplets
with large ground surface area.
Characteristics of cross flow tower
1. Water is in the packing in the tower, water flows from top to
bottom, and air flows horizontally from the outside to the inside
of the tower. Commonly used in residential areas with strict
noise requirements, it is the cooling circulation tower that is
used more in the air-conditioning industry. Advantages: energy
saving, low water pressure, low wind resistance, also equipped
with low-speed motor, no dripping noise and wind noise, easy
maintenance of filler and water distribution system.
2. Multiple foundations can be arbitrarily built according to the
shape of the building, and single or multiple cooling towers can
be started according to the required water temperature.
3. It should be noted that the frame needs 40% more heat exchange
volume to have more filler volume, the filler is easy to aging,
the water distribution hole is easy to block, the anti-icing is
not good, and the humidity returns. The advantages of the cross
flow tower are exactly the disadvantages of the counter flow
tower.
The main application of cooling tower
Cooling towers are mainly used in air conditioning cooling
systems, freezing series, injection molding, leather making,
foaming, power generation, steam turbines, aluminum profile
processing, air compressors, industrial water cooling, etc. The
most widely used are air conditioning cooling, freezing, plastic
