Product Details

Cocofiber or coconut fiber is usually used to beautify the appearance of plants and can maintain moisture in the planting medium. Coconut fiber contains elements in the form of calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), sodium (Na), nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K) which can fertilize plants. Even though it is watered many times, the coconut fiber is not moldy and does not damage the contents of the planting medium.

Cocofiber Coconut Coir is suitable as a planting medium for orchids or other plants, it can also cover the planting medium so that the plants look more beautiful and beautiful. The advantage of this coco fiber or cocofiber planting media is that it does not easily become moldy even though it is watered many times and does not damage the contents of the planting media.

Coconut fiber is obtained from the fibrous husk (mesocarp) of the coconut (Cocos nucifera) from the coconut palm, which belongs to the palm family (Palmae).

Coconut fiber has a high lignin content and thus a low cellulose content, as a result of which it is resilient, strong and highly durable. The remarkable lightness of the fibers is due to the cavities arising from the dried out sieve cells.

Coconut fiber is the only fruit fiber usable in the textile industry. Coir is obtained by retting for up to 10 months in water followed by sun-drying. Once dry, the fiber is graded into “bristle” fiber (combed, approx. 20 – 40 cm long) and “mattress” fiber (random fibers, approx. 2 – 10 cm long).

The best grade fibers are light in color, gold-yellow (fiber from not yet completely ripened nuts) or brown (fiber from ripe nuts).

Benefits of Cocofiber.

Utilization of coconut coir in the world of agriculture can not be separated from the content of nutrients in it. These nutrients include potassium (K), phosphorus (P), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), sodium (Na) and several other minerals. In addition, coconut coir has a very good ability to store water. Coconut coir is able to absorb and store water 6 times its volume. Utilization of coconut coir in the world of agriculture, among others;

  • As a Source of Organic Potassium Nutrients
  • As Solid Organic Fertilizer
  • As Liquid Organic Fertilizer
  • As a Mixture of Planting Media
  • As a Growing Medium for Hydroponic Systems
  • As a Soil pH Neutralizer

Quality / Duration of storage

The best grade fibers are light in color, gold-yellow (fiber from not yet completely ripened nuts) or brown (fiber from ripe nuts).

An excessively high water content within the bales results in self-heating and decay during long voyages. A moisture measurement must therefore be carried out before accepting the consignment and moisture-damaged bales must be rejected.

Subject to compliance with the appropriate temperature and moisture conditions, duration of storage is not a limiting factor as regards transport and storage life.

The Best Grade Of Coco Fiber

The best grade coco fiber are light in color, gold-yellow (fiber from unripe coconuts) or brown (fiber from ripe coconuts). Other uses of brown coir (made from ripe coconut) are in upholstery padding, sacking and horticulture. White coir, harvested from unripe coconuts, is used for making finer brushes, string, rope and fishing nets.
