This type of black truffle is the most commercial truffle in the
world, and its habitat is across the globe. It belongs to one of
the most widespread types of truffles. Therefore, truffle
products such as truffle oil, truffle salt, Carpaccio, truffle
honey and truffle butter are mainly prepared by adding this type
of truffle.
The shape of the fruiting body is incorrectly rounded with mild
bumps. Peridia are dark brown or black with large nipple
outbreaks. At the cross-section, it is slightly lighter brown
with large white veins.
The smell is pleasant
and resembles the smell of mushrooms of medium quality. The
advantage over other types of truffles is the wide ecological
valence.
We can find it from the
valleys through the hills to the beech belt. The plants with
which it enters into the mycorrhiza are primarily all kinds of
oaks, grass, hazel, poplar, and linden. Fruiting bodies mature
until late autumn.
