Basin bearing is a new type of bridge support composed of steel components and rubber, compared with other types of basin bearings and cast steel roller bearings of the same kind, it has the characteristics of large bearing capacity, large horizontal displacement, flexible rotation, etc., and light weight, compact structure, simple structure, low building height, convenient processing and manufacturing, saving steel, reducing costs, etc., is suitable for the use of large collapse bridges and other advantages. At present, the bearing capacity of this series of bearings is 31 levels, and the bearing capacity is 0.8MN-60MN, which can meet the needs of large bridge construction.

Basin rubber bearings include fixed supports and movable supports. The movable support is divided into one-way movable support and two-way movable support. Generally speaking, fixed bearings are selected at the fixed end of the bridge, and movable bearings are selected at the movable end. For example, a simple supported girder bridge should be provided with fixed supports at one end of each span and movable supports at the other end; continuous girder bridgeFixed bearings should be provided on one pier in each connection, and movable supports should be provided on the remaining piers. However, if the bridge deck is wide, the distance between the two supports of the fixed end is large, and the expansion value of the cross bridge cannot be ignored, the fixed end can not use the fixed support, but uses a one-way movable support, which rotates 90 degrees and places it under the beam, which can not only ensure the fixed role of the longitudinal bridge direction, but also play the active role of the cross-bridge direction. In addition, in order to reduce the force of the pier platform, for the simple support girder bridge, the fixed support should be arranged on the pier platform with low elevation; for the continuous beam bridge, in order to disperse the longitudinal deformation of the whole girder at both ends of the beam, the fixed support should be arranged at the middle fulcrum.

Bidirectional movable supports can move in any direction within the horizontal plane. Therefore, this type of support should be selected on the movable pier of the curved bridge. As for one-way movable bearings, they can be used in straight bridges. However, it should be noted that it should only be used when there is only one support on the movable pier, or if the lateral temperature expansion between the supports is small.
