1000 series is an industry-recognised
grade for most general sheet metal work. It has
moderate strength and excellent
corrosion resistance. An attractive feature
of our 1000 series material is the highly
reflective surface. This is ideal for exposed
uses where a decorative impact is
desired.
Typical uses for aluminium sheet
include:
Architectural flashing
Lamp
reflectors
Panelling
Signs
The specific
gravity of aluminum is
2.7, approximately one third of the specific
gravity of iron (7.8) or that of copper (8.9).
Therefore, products made of aluminum are also
so
light that various benefits are offered.
Because of its large specific tensile strength
(strength per unit), aluminum is used as structural
materials.
Aluminum materials can be painted, anodized, or
even coated with functional resin film. Such
treatment makes it possible to manufacture highly
functional products that have beautiful
appearance.
Magnetization-free, aluminum is free from
magnetization and not affected by a magnetic field.
It is therefore used for magnetic compasses and
magnetic discs for computers.
The marking of 1000 series identifies
pure aluminum for industrial use. For instance,
1050 shows that the purity is 99.5%; 1050, 1100,
and 1200 indicate that the purity is 99.0%.
Traces of Fe and Si are added to these aluminum
pieces depending upon their
characteristics.
The 1000 series aluminum is
superior in processability, corrosion resistance,
weldability, electric conductivity, and thermal
conductivity. It is therefore used for
containers, radiation materials and
others.
