Ethanol
Commonly used 95%
alcohol (scientific name: ethanol) and pure alcohol.
Alcohol penetration is strong, and the fixed time is
often less than 1 hour. High concentrations of alcohol
have the effect of shrinking materials. 70% alcohol can
be used as preservation solution. A Chemicalbook must be
used to make low-alcohol alcohol. Regular alcohol is 95%
alcohol, never pure
alcohol.
Alcohol is a reducing agent, can not cooperate with
chromic acid, osmium, potassium dichromate and other
oxidants. Alcohol can precipitate nucleic acid, protein
and liver sugar, but it can dissolve fat and
lipids.
