White Tea has the highest antioxidant content among other types of tea.
The name White Tea is taken from the youngest tea leaves that are still curled and then after drying they become silvery white and shiny from the hairs that cover them. White Tea has a pointed shape resembling a needle so it is often called a silver needle. The many feathers accompanied by the tip of the tea shoots indicate that the antioxidant content in White Tea is high.
Based on a series of studies conducted supported by a number of scientific publications, there are myriad benefits of antioxidants contained in White Tea:
1. Fights free radicals
2. Lowers Cholesterol
3. Protects & strenghten the heart
4. Acts as anti-virus and anti-microbial
5. Prevents cancer-causing cell mutations
6. Lowers blood sugar levels and prevents symptoms of diabetes mellitus
7. Reduces aging and wrinkling of the skin
There are so many benefits of consuming White Tea for health. White tea is also used as a raw material for medicines and supplements for beauty, especially for anti-aging products.
A cup of White Tea has antioxidant activity equivalent to 10 glasses of apple juice, 31 times vitamin C and 100 times vitamin E. Therefore, White Tea is recommended to be drunk regularly, as much as 6 times a day at a rate of 2 grams for 200 ml of water at a temperature (90C) for 9 minutes, in one serving and can be brewed 2-3 times.
After brewing this tea will become a light golden yellow color that can be enjoyed while hot or cold, without reducing the antioxidant levels in it. White Tea is good to drink before and after meals.
