Stainless Steel Gate Valve: A certain angle is formed between the two sealing faces of the single-disc or double-discs wedge gate valve and perpendicular to the pipeline axis. It is mainly used for switching on or off the medium within pipelines, that is, it is used in a full open or close manner.

The gate valve is widely applicable for oil industry, chemical industry, and power station.

The design of the body-bonnet/gaskets varies depending on the class of the valve. Class 150 gate valves consist of a square joint in 2” and an oval one for all other sizes. Depending on the valve service it can be supplied flat-face gasket with graphite of PTFE.

Class 300 and 600 valves consist of a circular spiral wound gasket.

Class 900 and above gate valves consist of a ring type joint.

In pressure seal designs the sealing is achieved through a gasket that takes advantage of the internal pressure of the line. The material most commonly used is high-purity graphite being located between the body and the body retainer ring.

Gate valve refers to the valve whose closing parts (gate) move vertically along the axis of the pipeline. It is mainly used as cutting medium in the pipeline, that is, to open or close completely. Generally, gate valve can not be used as flow regulation. It can be applied to low temperature pressure can also be applied to high temperature and high pressure, and according to the different material of the valve. But gate valves are generally not used in pipelines for conveying mud and other media.

Advantage:

(1) The fluid resistance is small.

(2) The starting and closing moment is smaller;

(3) It can be used in the annular network pipeline where the medium flows in two directions, that is to say, the flow direction of the medium is not limited;

(4) When fully opened, the erosion of the sealing surface by working medium is smaller than that of the globe valve.

Disadvantages:

(1)The shape size and opening height are larger, and the installation space is larger.

(2) In the process of opening and closing, the wear of the sealing surface is relatively large, and even it is easy to cause abrasion at high temperature.

(3)Generally, gate valves have two sealing surfaces, which add some difficulties to processing, grinding and maintenance.

(4) Opening and closing time is long.
