The production process of Short Cut Fiber

Through an in-house developed production process, we cut fiber tows into chopped fibers and apply tackifiers on them that match the end application. When cutting fibers, we only affect the fiber length, which is one of the decisive quality criteria.

Our spun fiber tow is shredded into chopped strands of the highest quality. To this end, we continuously improve our multi-stage and specific fiber comminution methods.

Uses of Short Cut Fiber

Chopped fibers are produced industrially and are usually mixed with polymers to produce carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP = carbon fiber reinforced plastics). It is versatile and can be used in countless fields, such as the production of plastic parts in extruders and injection molding plants. On the one hand, you will find our patented cross-linked PE fibers, which are characterized by a completely different melting behavior. They are more thermally stable and have a viscous melt. This means that the chopped fibers become more elastic and rubbery when heated. Of course, the viscosity and thermal stability of the fiber melt can be adjusted individually.
