The story of how IBOGA came to humanity
(Fragment of native history narrated by a brother from Africa)
In Africa, there was a village in the jungle, inside lived a
hunting pygmy. Went to check one of the traps one morning and
discovered a porcupine. With joy, he moved the animal thinking
about the excellent dinner his wife would prepare that night,
presented him the prey and she began to prepare her food. Once
the couple ate the porcupine meat, his wife began to feel
strange; she began having visions, vivid visions of her village
neighbors. She felt connected with nature as a whole, with life
within her, and also seeing the inner workings of her own
village and what needed attention. The next day, the wife
immediately went to her husband, the chief of her village, to
report him news of this visionary journey.
The boss though. He thought a little longer. "Take me to the
place where you caught this porcupine," he said. We'll see what
there's to see."
In the trap where the porcupine had died, the chief noticed the
chewed bush bark. The porcupine had eaten from this plant and
then they had eaten their meat. “This root contains something,”
said the boss. “By eating porcupine meat, you Also ate the root
and felt that something.”
But this theory needed to be tested. In Gabon, women are
sacred. His word is sacred. So the boss took part of the root
to his wife. She would make the final call.
Without fear, it ate the root. A little while later came the
visions. deep insights came along. The lessons of life were
clear. She felt a connection to herself, on a soul level.
From this moment the medicine was taken to other villages.
The Iboga began teaching music and dance to the pygmies, and
thus the bwiti tradition was born. Though it had always
existed, the spirit of the iboga was finally made known to
humans. And now, medicine is traveling out of the rainforests
of Central West Africa to heal the planet.
Since that time, pygmies have utilized the sacred healing
powers of iboga in ceremonial rituals and in the practice and
mastery of the art of living.
The Iboga is here to teach, heal and show us the truth.
