Sulfonated Tannin (SMT) is brown‑brown powder made from natural gallnut tannin via sulfonation modification. Easily soluble in water, alkaline aqueous solution. It is one of classic “three‑sulfonated” mud additives, compounded with sulfonated lignite and sulfonated asphalt. Temperature resistance up to 180‑200℃, anti‑calcium pollution, compatible with fresh water, brine and saturated brine mud, stabilizes mud rheological property。
