Petroleum coke is a by-product of the production of light oil by pyrolysis of raw oil in delayed coking unit. The output of petroleum coke is about 25-30% of the raw oil. Its calorific value is low, about 1.5-2 times that of coal, the ash content does not exceed 0.5%, the volatile matter is about 11%, and the quality is close to that of anthracite

Application :

1. Needle coke and other low-sulfur high-quality cooked coke are mainly used to manufacture ultra-high power graphite electrodes and some special carbon products; needle coke is an important material for the development of new electric furnace steelmaking technology in the steelmaking industry .

2. Medium sulfur and ordinary cooked coke are widely used in aluminum smelting.

3. High-sulfur and ordinary raw coke is used in chemical production, such as manufacturing calcium carbide, silicon carbide, etc., and also used as fuel for metal casting.
