Advantages of ceramic
bearing materials: 1. High speed: ceramic bearings have
the advantages of cold resistance, small force elasticity, high
pressure resistance, poor thermal conductivity, light weight, and
small friction coefficient, and can be used in high-speed
spindles from 12,000 rpm to 75,000 rpm and other high-speed
spindles. in precision equipment; 2. High temperature resistance:
The ceramic bearing material itself has a high temperature
resistance of 1200 °C, and has good self-lubrication. The
operating temperature is between 100 °C and 800 °C without
expansion caused by temperature difference. Can be used in
furnaces, plastics, steel and other high temperature equipment;
3. Corrosion resistance: The ceramic bearing material itself has
the characteristics of corrosion resistance, which can be used in
strong acid, strong alkali, inorganic, organic salt, seawater and
other fields, such as: electroplating equipment, electronic
equipment, chemical machinery, shipbuilding, medical equipment,
etc. 4. Anti-magnetic: The ceramic bearing does not absorb dust
because it is non-magnetic, which can reduce the bearing peeling
off in advance and the noise is large. Can be used in
demagnetization equipment. Precision instruments and other
fields. 5. Electrical insulation: ceramic bearings can avoid arc
damage due to their high electrical resistance, and can be used
in various electrical equipment requiring insulation. 6. Vacuum:
Due to the unique oil-free self-lubricating properties of ceramic
materials, in the ultra-high vacuum environment, silicon nitride
full-ceramic bearings can overcome the problem that ordinary
bearings cannot achieve lubrication.
Compared with metal bearings, the advantages
of ceramic bearings is as follows: 1. The fatigue life of
all-ceramic bearings can be 10-50 times longer than that of
all-steel bearings, and the life of hybrid ceramic bearings will
be about 3-5 times longer than that of all-steel bearings; in
terms of service life, ceramic bearings are much longer than
metal bearings. 2. The friction coefficient of ceramic bearings
is low, so oil-lubricated ceramic bearings, in the case of
thinning or lack of lubricating oil, their lubricating ability is
still not lower than the traditional lubricants commonly used in
steel bearings; 3. The rigidity of ceramic bearings is larger
than that of metal bearings, and the elastic modulus of ceramic
materials is high, and its rigidity is 15-20% larger than that of
ordinary steel bearings. 4. Compared with metal bearings, ceramic
bearings are more resistant to corrosion and wear. Because the
material itself is different, the corrosion resistance and wear
resistance of ceramic bearings directly lead to better than metal
bearings.
