Product Details

We talked about several common slurry pump cavitation monitoring methods in the previous chapter. Today we will talk about the other two monitoring methods.

1. Bubble monitoring. This kind of monitoring is less common because it can only be carried out on a transparent pump casing, and then a high-speed camera is used to observe the occurrence and development of bubbles at the impeller inlet. Due to the particularity of this monitoring method, bubble monitoring is not widely used in engineering practice. Only a few important industrial and mining companies in the world use cavitation testing for slurry pumps.

2. Motor torque monitoring. For slurry pumps using variable frequency motors, the function of the intelligent variable speed drive can be used for monitoring. In addition to energy efficiency benefits and a variety of useful features, some smart variable speed drives now have integrated anti-cavitation software. This makes it possible to prevent cavitation without adding any additional costs and system complexity.

The above two methods are not widely used in our field due to equipment limitations. If you want to know more about slurry pumps, please feel free to call us!
