Medium Chain Triglycerides Oil

Medium Chain Triglycerides Oil (MCTs) are triglycerides with fatty tails of 6-12 carbon atoms.

The fatty acids found in MCTs are called medium chain fatty acids (MCFA).Like all triglycerides, MCTs consist of a glycerol backbone and three fatty acids.For MCT, 2 or 3 of the fatty acid chains attached to glycerol are of medium length.

Main ingredients

C8: Caprylic acid-the most desirable MCT because it can be converted to ketones within minutes, it is odorless, and may be easier on the digestive tract. C8 is the most valuable and expensive MCT. This is also the rarest type.

C10: Capric acid -conversion to ketones in the liver is less efficient than C8, and because it is more common than C8, it has lower production costs. This is the type of MCT found in most commercial brands.
