● Classification
Ferro chrome powder refers to ferroalloy powder with chromium and iron as the main components. It is one of the main alloying agents used in iron and steel industry. According to the carbon content, ferrochrome powder can be divided into high carbon ferro chrome powder (4% ~ 10% C), medium carbon ferro chrome powder (0.5% ~ 4% C), low carbon ferro chrome powder (0.15% ~ 0.5% C) and micro carbon ferro chrome powder (≤ 0.15% C).
Micro carbon ferro chrome powder refers to ferro chromium alloy powder with carbon content less than 0.15%.
● Micro-carbon ferrochrome
Micro-carbon ferrochrome is generally produced by "electric silicon thermal process of production and refining" (desilication method), which is a method of smelting and refining ferrochrome by adding chromium ore, lime and silicon chromium alloy into an electric arc furnace. It is mainly used as additive of chromium in steelmaking. It can also be used as raw materials for making nitride ferrochrome and pure ferrochrome, which has the advantages of high performance and low cost.
