Product Details

Features

Hydrocolloid dressing is a dressing made of elastic polymeric hydrogel mixed with synthetic rubber and hydroxymethylcellulose. The dressing is self-adhesive and adheres perfectly to dry and moist skin without damaging any sensitive skin surrounding the wound. Removing the adhesive leaves little residual on the skin and is not painful for the user. This dressing creates a moist environment surrounding the wound which improves healing and reconstruction of tissues. The hydrocolloid can swell 12 times when absorbing exudate from the wound. The dressing is waterproof, safe to use in the shower, and impermeable to outside moisture and contamination. The semi-translucent sheets keep out any foul smells and at the same time provide visual cues for timely application of new sheets. In addition to promoting healing, this dressing can also prevent and alleviate scarring. The dressing sheets can be cut to size according to the exact needs of the wounds. The sheets are slim and flexible, and can conform to moving body parts such as joints. The material is soft and comfortable on the skin for the user. This product is both time- and cost-effective for patients and care-givers alike.

Scope of Application

Venous ulcers, I-I degree pressure sores, low-degree burns, skin grafting sites, surgical wounds, plastic surgery wounds, chronic wounds, etc. Excellent for moderate- to low-exudate wounds without infection. Can also be used to prevent pressure sores.

Direction and Safety Information

Directions

Open the package after cleaning the wound. When applying the dressing sheet, select a sheet with an area slightly larger than the area of the wound, peel off the release paper, and directly cover the dressing over the wound. Change the dressing sheet according to the healing situation and the amount of exudate. Generally the sheets should be changed every 1—3 days but at most they may be worn for up to 7 days. When the dressing is saturated with exudate, a white milky mixture would appear under the sheet, which indicates that the dressing needs to be changed. Change accordingly if any leakage occurs.
