Cuttlefish are mollusks with elongated soft bodies, large eyes, eight arms, and two tentacles in the superorder Decapodiformes. Like all other squids, the squid has a distinct head, bilateral symmetry, and a mantle. They are mostly soft bodied, like octopuses, but have a small internal skeleton in the shape of a gladius or pen-like rod, made of chitin.
