HIGH QUALITY STAINLESS STEEL FAG BALL BEARINGS -
MADE IN GERMANY
FAG Bearings have been synonymous with
high quality for over 120 years. In 1883,
Friedrich Fischer designed a ball grinding
machine in Schweinfurt, Germany that, for the
first time, made it possible to produce
absolutely round steel balls by grinding. The
invention is regarded as the foundation for the
entire rolling bearing industry.
FAG Bearings (part of the Schaeffler Group)
offers a broad range of bearing products, among
the most comprehensive in the rolling bearing
industry. FAG Bearings can supply products for
applications in around 60 industrial sectors and
numerous automotive applications as well as a
variety of special solutions with which complex
tasks involving bearings can be managed reliably
and economically.
FAG Rolling bearings usually are composed of
two bearing rings with integral raceways. Rolling
elements are arranged between the rings and roll on
the raceways. Rolling elements can be balls,
cylindrical rollers, needle rollers, tapered
rollers or barrel rollers. The rolling elements are
generally guided by a cage that keeps them at a
uniform distance from each other and prevents them
coming into contact with each other. In needle
roller bearings and ribless spherical roller
bearings, the cage also ensures that the rolling
element axis is positioned correctly. Where
bearings can be dismantled, the cage holds the
rolling elements together and gives easier fitting
of the bearings. For particular applications,
rolling bearings with a full complement of balls,
cylindrical rollers or needle rollers may be
used.
FAG Plain bearings are available as
radial bearings, axial bearings, strips, cups and
in many other designs. These bearings are known for
their quiet operation and are well suited for
applications where high loads must be supported
under relatively slow rotary and swivel motion and
at low and high temperatures. Because of their
versatile specific characteristics, they are used
in almost all areas of industry and especially
where the available space is
limited.
Generation C The new
standard for deep groove ball bearings
With Generation C, FAG Bearings is setting a new
standard for deep groove ball bearings - 50 per
cent less noise and 35 per cent less friction. This
significant improvement in performance can be
traced to the optimized osculation of the rolling
elements on the rings - plus high ball quality and
improved raceway surfaces. The changes include more
efficient HRS sealing and a riveted steel cage.
These design amendments allow applications to
operate much more quietly, leading to increased
efficiency and higher speeds. Longer life and lower
energy consumption are the end
result!

in 1883 that made it possible to produce absolutely
round steel balls by grinding, FAG has been on the
cutting edge of rolling bearing technology. FAG has
been part of the Schaeffler Group since 2001 and
today FAG ball and roller bearings are manufactured
in many designs and sizes.
FAG Deep Groove Ball Bearings -
Generation C
FAG Generation C Deep Groove Ball Bearings have an
improved design and enhanced features which
translate into a reduction in noise levels and
friction. The technical features of FAG Generation
C Deep Groove Ball Bearings include: improved
raceway surfaces and ball quality; optimized
osculation; narrower manufacturing tolerances; a
new riveted steel cage; and a large selection of
special greases. These features of FAG Generation C
Deep Groove Ball Bearings lead to reduced energy
consumption and heat generation as well as a long
operating life for both bearing and grease. Higher
speeds and lower overall costs are other benefits
of FAG Generation C Deep Groove Ball Bearings. FAG
Single Row Generation C Deep Groove Ball Bearings
are available sealed and unsealed, in a large array
of sizes.
FAG Angular Contact Ball
Bearings
FAG Angular Contact Ball Bearings are available as
single row or double row
configurations.
FAG Singular Row Angular Contact Ball
Bearings
FAG Single row angular contact
ball bearings are are available in open and sealed
versions and have a very small self-alignment
capacity. FAG Single row angular contact ball
bearings are self-retaining units with solid inner
and outer rings and ball and cage assemblies with
polyamide, sheet steel or brass cages. The raceways
of the inner and outer rings are offset in relation
to each other in the direction of the bearing
axis.
FAG Singular Row Angular Contact Ball Bearings with
X-life
Many sizes of FAG angular contact ball bearings are
supplied in X-life design which gives them an
improved raceway geometry as well as optimized
surfaces. A significant increase in the fatigue
limit load of the bearings (values up to 50% higher
are achieved) can be achieved. This means that in
certain applications, a smaller design of bearing
arrangement can be used when
necessary.
FAG Double Row Angular Contact Ball Bearings
FAG double row angular contact ball bearings have
solid inner and outer rings and ball and cage
assemblies with polyamide, sheet steel or brass
cages. They correspond in design to single row
angular contact ball bearings in pairs in an O
arrangement but give a narrower design than these.
They differ in the size of their contact angle and
the design of the bearing
rings.
FAG double row angular contact
ball bearings are available in open and sealed
versions. In addition, open bearings can still have
turned recesses on the outer ring for seals or
shields. Sealed bearings are maintenance-free
providing economical bearing arrangements. The
self-alignment capacity of angular contact ball
bearings is very small.
FAG Spindle Bearings
FAG spindle
bearings are single row angular contact ball
bearings made up of solid inner and outer rings and
ball and cage
assemblies with solid window cages. FAG spindle
bearings cannot be dismantled, and are available in
open and sealed versions.
FAG spindle bearings have restricted tolerances
making them particularly suitable for bearing
arrangements needing high guidance accuracy and
high speed capacity. FAG spindle bearings are
appropriate for the bearing arrangements of
spindles in machine tools.
FAG Four Point Contact Bearings
FAG four point contact bearings are single row
angular contact ball bearings so they need
significantly less space in an axial direction than
double row designs. FAG Four Point Contact Bearings
are made up of solid outer rings, split inner rings
and ball and cage assemblies with brass or
polyamide cages. Because of the two-piece inner
rings of FAG four point contact bearings, they can
accommodate a large number of balls. The halves of
the inner ring of FAG four point contact bearings
are matched to the specific bearing and can't be
interchanged with those of bearings of the same
size. The outer ring with the ball and cage
assembly of FAG four point contact bearings can be
fitted separately from the halves of the inner
ring.
FAG Self-Aligning Ball Bearings
FAG Self-aligning ball bearings are double row,
self-retaining units comprising solid outer rings
with a concave raceway, inner rings with a
cylindrical or tapered bore and ball and cage
assemblies. FAG Self-aligning ball bearings are
available in both open and sealed
versions.
FAG Tapered Roller Bearings
FAG tapered roller bearings are made up of solid
inner and outer rings with tapered raceways and
tapered rollers with cages. FAG tapered roller
bearings are not self-retaining, which means the
inner ring together with the rollers and cage can
be fitted separately from the outer ring. FAG
tapered roller bearings can support axial loads
from one direction as well as high radial loads.
They must normally be axially adjusted against a
second bearing fitted in a mirror image
arrangement.
FAG Tapered Roller Bearings with X-life
FAG tapered roller bearings are now offered with
X-life design, meaning that the geometry, surfaces
and materials have been optimized. FAG Tapered
Roller Bearings with X-life provide increased basic
dynamic load ratings (Cr) of up to 20 % compared to
previous designs, an increase in the basic rating
life of approximately 70 % under the same operating
conditions und up to 75 % less
friction.
FAG Barrel Roller Bearings
FAG barrel roller bearings are single row,
self-aligning roller bearings made up of solid
outer rings with a concave raceway,
solid inner rings with two ribs and a cylindrical
or tapered bore and barrel rollers with cages. FAG
barrel roller bearings cannot be dismantled. FAG
barrel roller bearings are designed for
applications where high radial shock type loads
occur and misalignment must be compensated. The
axial load carrying capacity of FAG barrel roller
bearings is small.
FAG Spherical Roller Bearings
FAG spherical roller bearings are double row,
self-retaining units comprising solid outer rings
with a concave raceway, solid
inner rings and barrel rollers with cages. The
inner rings of FAG spherical roller bearings are
designed with cylindrical or
tapered bores.
The symmetrical barrel rollers of FAG spherical
roller bearings freely align themselves to the
concave outer ring raceway,
compensating for shaft deflections and misalignment
of the bearing seats.
FAG Spherical Roller Bearings with X-life
Many sizes of FAG spherical roller bearings have
the X-life design. FAG spherical roller bearings
with X-life do not have a central rib on the inner
ring so longer barrel rollers can be fitted;
improved kinematics, optimized surfaces and even
higher
performance materials are possible. As a result,
FAG spherical roller bearings with X-life show a
significant increase in the
basic dynamic load rating and, under the same
operating conditions, in the basic rating life.
Because of this, in certain
applications, a smaller design of bearing
arrangement can be used if
needed.
FAG Axial Deep Groove Ball Bearings
FAG axial deep groove ball bearings are made up of
shaft locating washers, housing locating washers
and ball and cage assemblies. FAG axial deep groove
ball bearings are not self-retaining; meaning that
the ball and cage assembly and bearing washers can
be fitted independently of each other.
In addition to series of FAG axial deep groove ball
bearings with flat washers, there are also series
of FAG axial deep groove ball bearings with
spherical housing locating washers for compensation
of static misalignment. These designs are normally
used in conjunction with support washers. FAG axial
deep groove ball bearings are available in single
and double direction designs.
FAG Axial Spherical Roller Bearings
FAG axial spherical roller bearings are single row,
self-aligning roller bearings comprised of solid
shaft and housing washers and asymmetrical barrel
rollers with cages. The cage holds the roller and
cage assembly together with the shaft locating
washer. FAG axial spherical roller bearings can be
dismantled. The parts of FAG axial spherical roller
bearings can be fitted separately. FAG axial
spherical roller bearings can support very high
axial loads and allow relatively high speeds. Since
the raceways are at an angle to the bearing axis,
FAG axial spherical roller bearings can also
support radial loads.
Both designs of FAG axial spherical roller bearings
can support high axial forces but must not be
subjected to radial loads.
