Pasak bumi or tongkat ali (Eurycoma longifolia) is a nutritious tree plant that can be found in the forests of Malaysia and western Indonesia.
The roots of pasak bumi are known to be efficacious as an aphrodisiac, considered a herbal medicine for male virility.
Plants can reach a height of up to 10 meters in the thickets of lowland forest. Usually, the leaves are dense at the end of the stem. Most of these trees are unbranched, if they branch too little, only one or two branches. The flowers are arranged densely on a branching stalk, which comes out of the base of the leaf.
