Invar is a controlled expansion alloy, Invar almost always mean Invar 36, also known generically as FeNi36 or 64FeNi in the US. It is a nickel–iron alloy remarkable for its uniquely low coefficient of thermal expansion (C.T.E or α). The name Invar comes from the word invariable, means its relative lack of expansion or contraction with temperature changing. Its thermal expansion is extremely small, so invar alloy parts can maintain high dimensional stability under frequent temperature fluctuation.

Machined Invar 36 alloy parts has been used for applications where dimensional changes due to temperature variation must be minimized, such as in radio and electronic devices, aircraft controls, optical and laser system, temperature regulators.Our machined invar parts are usually used for instruments whose high dimensional stability is required, such as precision instruments, clocks, seismic creep gauges, television shadow-mask frames valves in engines and large aero-structure molds.
