Dosages
A dose of 1.25 to 2.5 U (volume from 0.05 mL to 0.1 mL at each
location) is advised for blepharospasm, and in patients with
diplegia, a dose of 6 U/kg is advised. The most dose that can be
given to a patient at once is 200 U. Glabellar wrinkles are
frequently treated with 20U injections, but the dosage varies
depending on the client's presentation.
Effects
The symptoms of blepharospasm ought to start showing up in 3 days
and peak in 3 weeks. Within 4 weeks of the injection,
improvements can be seen in applications for pediatric cerebral
palsy. Because the dosages are not always the same, the results
for glabellar wrinkles vary.
Botulinum toxicity warnings
Fatigue, generalized muscle weakness, diplopia, ptosis,
dysphagia, dysphonia, dysarthria, urine incontinence, and
respiratory issues are examples of contraindications.
