Piperine is main active component of pepper. It is a type of alkaloid. It is found widely in nature, especially inpepper plants.
Piperine accounts for 4%-9% of pepper fruit. Hongkang Piperine comes from dried fruits of black pepper. Acts as a natural cosmetic ingredient.It is extremely sensitive to light. It is almost insoluble in water, and slightly soluble in ether; it is soluble in benzene or acetic acid, and easily soluble in chloroform, ethanol.

2-Promotion of penetration

Piperine can be absorbed through skin, and act directly on subcutaneous tissues, nerves and blood vessels.Thus Piperine can significantly improve and promote absorption and utilization of active ingredients in skin.Also it can help cosmetic ingredients quickly penetrate into skin.

3-Anti-oxidation

Piperine can reduce oxidative stress damage of cells in the process of oxygen free radicals generation andscavenging. Additionally, it has certain scavenging capacity to hydroxyl and DPPH free radicals. It exhibitsanti-oxidation property. Its anti-oxidative capacity is equivalent to 60.05% of vitamin C; and it is stable in acidic medium.

Piperine can stimulate activity of melanocytes. It increases the amount of tyrosine, and promotes expression of TPR1.Thus Piperine accelerates synthesis of melanin in epidermal melanocytes. It can be added into cosmeceuticals for treatment of depigmentation dermatosis.
