Test for estimation of Acid phosphatase activity in serum / plasma using α-Naphthylphosphate method.
Introduction:
Acid Phosphatase is an enzyme produced by the prostate gland. It may be found in increased amounts in men who have prostate cancer or other diseases. Elevations of total enzyme activity are also observed in case of myeloma, thrombocytopenia and some liver diseases. Test for the estimation of Acid Phosphatase activity is done in serum / plasma using α-Napthylphosphate kinetic method.
