Since ancient times, loquat has occupied an important position in the Chinese food and medicine culture. Loquat had already been recorded in The Rites of the Zhou Dynasty, written 2000 years ago. According to the Compendium of Materia Medica, compiled in 1578, loquat "relieves coughing, cleanses lungs, and moisturises internal organs." Not only known to China, loquat gradually spread to South Korea, Japan, and Southeastern countries, and many of them have been cultivating loquat commercially in the modern days. A Chinese medicine containing loquat that cures coughing is known to all ethnic Chinese around the world. Despite its high-degree recognition in Asia, the market for loquat juice is still a vacuum. Seizing on this opportunity, established in 2006, having a registered capital of 71 million Chinese Yuan, utilizing the premium-quality "Great Five-Star" loquat planted in the scale of 210 thousand mu, in Renshou County, Sichuan Province as the raw material, and offering organic diversities to modern consumers, Furenyuan became the first company in China to process loquat and to secure the patents involving loquat processing. Furenyuan is also the only company in China to possess the core patented technology for "Processing and Constant-temperature Storing of Loquat Puree." The number of online customers reviews has reached 160,000, with a positive rate of 98%. In December 2016, Jd.com formally injected capital to Furenyuan. By 2015, Furenyuan had an annual production of loquat puree of 28 thousand tons. Annual sales reached 160 million Chinese Yuan, with a share of 45% in the market of processed loquat products. As the production lags behind sales, with policy supports from the government, Furenyuan invested 1 billion Chinese Yuan to start the "Project of Loquat Development in Meishan City." The Project will integrate all First (Agriculture), Second (Processing), and Third (Service) industries to form a special industry chain of loquat.
