The year 1985 saw two experienced and reputed tea men, namely Nirmal Ranasinghe and Travice Fernando establishing a traditional trading house to set in motion a cherished vision they shared for many years. Today, more than 30 years later, Ranfer Group of Companies, incorporated primarily to export teas, has expanded to engulf 14 companies with a diversified field of actives. Ranfer Teas (Private) Limited has remained the mainline activist of the group, presently enjoying a wide spectrum of clientele in over 40 countries around the world. The group also maintains offices in Kenya and Malawi and Vietnam, in keeping with their policies of off-shore trading. The supplies from these centres are marketed to an over expanding base of consumer markets. The Groups trading activities, in respect of other traditional and non-traditional products such as Spices, Coconut products, Pulses, Oil Seeds, Coffee Beans, Cashew Nuts etc, have reflected a very promising growth. The diversification of their operations in recent time to cover the import and distribution of consumer food items, Travels and Tours, Flexible Packaging, E-based Advertising and Web Designing and also maintaining a holiday boutique resort have given the Group significant depth in their image as a wildly represented corporate body.Our pioneering and innovative effort in marketing of other Sri Lankan agro based products such as dried lime, powdered lemon packed in "Tea" bag sachets, pastel shaded DC and Spices in other value added form have been recognized by the government and other promotional bodies which resulted in our being awarded THE MOST OUTSTANDING EXPORTER FOR ALL COMMODITIES in 2002. In addition to this prestigious award, we secured Gold Medals etc.,for export of tea and produce on a continuous basis.TEA INDUSTRY -MILESTONERanfer occupies an important role and position in the International Tea Industry with its unique development as a multi origin tea supplier. On a collective basis the total exports of tea from its offices in Sri Lanka, Kenya, Malawi and Vietnam accounts for a quantum exceeding 26 Million Kilos of Tea annually.RANFER TEAS CLUSTERThe cluster consists of three Companies, operating in the areas of trading bulk teas, tea bagging and offering of a wide range of value added tea packing services. We presently enjoy a wide spectrum of clientele in the overseas markets. We were the sole supplier and the export arm of the Sri Lanka Tea Board.RANFER INTERNATIONAL (PVT) LTDIs the export division for a wild range of Spices, Desiccated Coconut, non- traditional commodities produced in Sri Lanka, it also undertakes Offshore Trading in respect of Cocoa Powder, Coffee etcRANFER FLEXIBLE PACKAGING (PVT) LTDThe groups management has ventured into an industrialized project of processing gravure packaging covering a wide range of double and triple laminated products. Catering to the ever growing consumer demands of packaging, Ranfer Flexible has gained a sound reputation within the industry within the short frame of operations.RANFER TEAS (KENYA) LTDThe Groups activities in Kenya was established in 1996, and is today one of the largest exporters from Mombasa.RANFER TEAS MALAWI LTDThis Organization has been in operation since 1995 and has been the main supplier of tea to Entyce Beverages of South Africa. In addition they are regular exporters of tea to Kenya, Egypt, Australia, Netherlands etc. The Organization ranks within the first five largest exporters in Malawi.RANFER VIETNAM (PVT) LTDVietnam in recent times have emerged as one of the key constituencies possessing immense potential for sourcing a wide range of commodities and most notably black tea, green tea, desiccated coconut, black pepper, cassia and other none-traditional commodities. The organization has a well-equipped processing and storing plant in Hanoi which ensure that the finished products are fully up to the requirements.GROUP ASSET BASE - USD11.5 MILLION
