Defu Foodstuff Pte Ltd specialise in imprting, exporting and distribution of premium processed garlic, garlic related items and the latest being natural functional food products. The story of Defu, a specialist in garlic, and the owner of the Black Gold(R) Brand, is closely associated with the values and personality of her two founders Aileen and Mr Kee. In 1990 they ventured into the business of fresh garlic noticing how tough it was for kitchen workers to peel and chop garlic to prepare meals. It was this concern and care for kitchen workers that led to their first market breakthrough - Fresh Chopped Garlic. Defus High quality Fresh Chopped Garlic from Cangshan endeared her to the food industry, especially kitchen workers and managers, and created for her contacts that benefit the company till today. Aileen and Mr Kees epicurean curiosity and love for learning led them to digest extensive knowledge about garlic. They were fascinated to find that garlic is a superfood. New products have been added throughout the years, the latest being the Black Gold(R) Black Garlic Range in 2009.The company was first registered in 1990 as DEFU Foodstuff Trading, named after the location of its first office. The business was then privatized to Defu Foodstuff Pte Ltd in 200, and obtained ISO 22 000 Certification in 2012 to further ensure food safety. Currently, Defu is operating under AVA certified premises and is Halal certified as well. Defu has received numerous awards namely Singapore Prestige Brand Award, Asia International Honesty Enterprise Award and Unity Popular Choice Award.
