The East China Import and Export Fair, commonly known as "China Fair," is a major regional international economic and trade event. It is supported by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and sponsored by nine provinces and cities, including Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Shandong, Nanjing, and Ningbo. Shanghai Huajiao Exhibition Management Service Co., Ltd. is the organizing entity.
Since its inception in 1991, the China Fair has grown to become one of the largest events of its kind in China. The 31st edition, held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, featured an impressive exhibition area of 105,200 square meters and a total of 5,234 booths.
The 31st China Fair hosted 3,299 exhibitors, including 234 overseas exhibitors. The event attracted buyers from 119 countries and regions, with more than 35,000 domestic and foreign buyers in attendance. The total transaction volume during the exhibition reached an impressive US$ 2.18 billion.
The opening ceremony had the theme of "Foreign Trade Development and New Pattern." Dignitaries such as Zhang Xiong (Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Municipal Government) and Xiao Lu (Deputy Director of the Foreign Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce) delivered speeches. Zhou Hanmin, a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, provided a keynote speech on "Digital Transformation and Foreign Trade Development." Additionally, 34 exhibiting companies from 11 trading groups received the "China Fair Product Innovation Award."
Simultaneously, a cross-border e-commerce summit forum was conducted, featuring expert insights and recommendations for the development of cross-border e-commerce.
This China Fair introduced a special area for procurement matchmaking. In addition to offline negotiations, an online communication platform was incorporated, resulting in a total of 6 procurement matchmaking meetings, including 4 "face-to-face" offline negotiation meetings and 2 "screen-to-screen" online negotiation meetings. A total of 900 rounds of negotiations took place, effectively bridging the "trade distance" and enhancing convenience for trade docking.
