Tips for Buyers

Contact Multiple Suppliers

Don’t rely on just one quote. Reach out to several suppliers to compare prices, lead times, and terms. This not only gives you a better understanding of market rates but also increases your chances of finding the most suitable supplier for your needs.

Write a Detailed RFQ

A well-written Request for Quotation (RFQ) can make all the difference. Clearly mention the product specifications, quantity, packaging requirements, destination port, and any certifications needed. The more detailed your RFQ, the more accurate and relevant the quotes you'll receive.

Ask Suppliers for Certifications

If you're buying regulated or technical products, always ask for relevant certifications. These may include ISO, CE, FDA, or product-specific documentation. Verified certifications help ensure product quality and compliance with import regulations in your country.

Beware of Red Flags

Look out for signs of unreliable suppliers, such as vague answers, inconsistent pricing, refusal to provide documents, or forceful communication style. If something feels off, take it seriously and verify before proceeding.

Communicate Directly and Clearly

Use professional, polite language and be specific in your queries. Clear communication helps avoid misunderstandings and keeps both parties aligned on expectations and deliverables.

Check Company Profile and Reviews

Before entering into any agreement, review the supplier’s profile on Tradewheel.com. Check their business history, ratings, response time, and buyer feedback. It’s a quick way to assess credibility.

Understand the Payment Terms

Be clear on the payment terms before finalizing any deal. Whether it's 30% advance and 70% on delivery, or through secure payment gateways, understanding the terms protects both parties.

Start Small for First Orders

Consider placing a small trial order, if you are working with a supplier for the first time. This helps you evaluate product quality and the supplier's reliability without a large financial risk.
