Main specifications for Supercritical Fluid Extractor/Drier
Capability for precise temperature control for fluid pre-heaters to enable
consistent and repeatable experiments (preferably automated).
Capability for precise control of gas flow rate to enable well managed pressure
control and well as precise system venting rates (preferably automated).
Preferable with an inbuilt or supplied cooled CO2 pump in order to avoid the
need for an additional external chilling module.
Possess capability for exchangeable sample sizes (i.e. allowance for a wide
range of vessels volumes (possibly 5 ml to 500 ml) or varying capacity for the
chamber.
Possibility to operate at pressures up to 10,000 psi and at temperatures ranging
from ambient to 200°C.
Built in safety features for carbon dioxide pump and temperature control to
prevent accidental over-pressure and over-temperature conditions.
An option for co-solvent addition module would be an added advantage but not
mandatory.
All internal surfaces should be inert to CO2, acetone and other alcohols. Also,
an option for HF compatible/resistant sample holders is an added advantage
and highly preferred.
Capability for non-mechanical purge stirring that can enable elimination of
moving parts to allow easy maintenance is an added advantage.
For automated system, it should have the option for factory default automatic
settings as well as allow for creation of customizable settings.
Should be user-friendly (easy-to-use features), easy to maintain and with
appropriate guarantee and warrantee. Should also not expose the system to
particulate/powder contamination.
User training should be provided and the supplied equipment should contain the
associated accessories and tools to enable its immediate operation upon
delivery.
