Dear Sirs,
Kohler Mira are the market leader in the UK for showers and bathroom products and part of the global KOHLER group. We have a strong requirement to manufacture more environmentally shower trays. Currently we produce the structural part of the tray in a concrete/composite material and then encase this form with Acrylic capped ABS.
We have seen in the market a range of pallets manufactured from compressed wood chippings and we are keen to understand if we could produce the core of our trays with this material.
The key criteria for this project to be successful are : -
1. The structure must be very ridged and robust.
2. The weight should be less than the current product.
3. The cost should be equal or lower than the existing concrete.
4. The wood core composite must be environmentally friendly.
The opportunity is to supply manufacturing equipment to meet our annual demand of 400,000 pieces.
The first stage of this process, prior to purchasing the manufacturing equipment is to prove the capability of this process and therefore we need to identify the most suitable supplier to engage with. The skills that we are looking for are :
1. A high quality manufacturer of similar products.
2. A supplier who can advise on the technical aspects of this product including, maximising strength and rigidity, different filler/resin/glue options.
3. A supplier who can develop a range of products with us.
4. A supplier who can mould accurately and who can manufacture/source competitive tooling.
Please would you contact me to advise which supplier currently using your processing equipment would be most suitable to meet the above criteria and if these trials prove successful we would then consider purchasing and installing this capital equipment into our UK factory.
