Hi there, I am Duncan Cameron from Venture Networks Ltd, an internet service provider in New Zealand.
We are trying to source a 27RU (or similar size outdoor cabinet) for use on our wireless transmission sites. At the moment, we are trying to source a single cabinet that we can use for our R&D site, which we will then present to potential investors.
We hope to purchase much more for other sites in coming months, as we aim to supply internet services to several remote islands off the coast of New Zealand.
We need space for batteries in the cabinet with these specifications : The largest batteries we have are as follows : Length 410 mm Width 177 mm Height 225 mm Weight 38kg As it is only a small site we only have 2 of these batteries installed, but we are going to add another 2, so we will need space for 4 batteries with these dimensions.
Other than the batteries, we have network equipment that is all standard 19" rack mountable.
This includes a router and a switch currently. The site is also off-grid and uses a DC power system running at 48V. The system runs on solar so we use a solar controller and DC-DC converter which does not have standard mounting, but we could mount it on a rack shelf with some modification.
In terms of other systems, it could be good to have a heating unit/air conditioner but not essential. Venting would be a good alternative. In terms of IP rating, the system is located in a mountain range which does receive severe weather/rain during the winter. IP 65-67 is ideal. The total power draw of our system at the moment is under 90W.
Once we add new equipment, it will only be around 150W. We have very power efficient hardware in use. We have large batteries as the winter months get very little sun.
