This specification covers Barbed Tape Concertina Coils, herein known as concertina, for barbed tape entanglements. These entanglements may serve as a tactical personnel obstacle for temporary military positions.
The Material in Barbed tape shall be galvanized steel wire with G60-G90 coating according to ASTM A653 or equivalent.
The material in Core Wire shall be galvanized steel wire with a minimum tensile strength of 1516 MPa according to ASTM A764 or equivalent.
Concertina shall consist of a coil of single-strand-core wire fitted with barbed tape
When extended to a coil, the concertina shall be placed in spiral turns connected by clips so as to form a cylindrical diamond pattern.
