Vanilla planifolia is a type of vanilla orchid that is quite famous globally, especially in the American market. It is one of the primary sources of vanilla flavoring due to its high vanilla content. This type of vanilla is widely grown in Madagascar, but this plant also grows in some parts of Indonesia.

Indonesian Vanilla Planifolia is typically lengthy and slender beans with a length that ranges from 11 cm to 20 cm. It has a vibrant flavor with a slightly woody aroma similar to the Madagascar Bourbon variety of Vanilla Planifolia that grows in Mexico. This type of vanilla has a cylindrical shape and is longer than the Vanilla Tahitensis type, but this type of aroma is not as strong as Tahitensis.
