Principle of Laser Marking:

A pulsed laser beam of high energy is generated by laser generators. Laser marking additives make the light convert into the heat energy when the beam acting on the materials to be marked.

Processing:

l Laser additive is recommended to compound with the target materials using extruders.Processing parameters of the target materials remains unchanged during extrusion granulation. Then blow molding, injection molding extrusion or other technology can be used to produce plastic parts.

The plastic parts can be direct produced by injection molding, after a simple dry blend of Laser additive and the target materials.l

During extrusion granulation and direct injection molding, Laser additive can be used together with color masterbatch, dyes, and pigments of white, yellow (light), blue (light),red (light), gray, etc.

Dosage:

l 0.4-4 wt%, depending on the degree of the dark color of marks;

l In general, 1.0-2.5 wt% is always recommended.

Attention:

1. The quality of laser marking depends on various factors. In addition to the additives for laser marking, additives in plastics, colorants, the quality of the laser marking machine, and the coefficient setting of the laser marking machine also have very critical factors. 2. Glass fiber or glass beads will not have a great impact on marking effect.

3. In the process of marking white with black, it is recommended that the total amount of carbon black should not be more than 1.5% of the resin. Excessive carbon black will reduce the laser Marking performance.

4. PP (polypropylene) colored with carbon black can be marked with white marks, but for industrial production, the continuous marking of the finished product is very important. Adding an appropriate amount of laser marking additives can make the finished product have a higher speed and stable laser marking effect,and better clarity.

5. The addition of flame retardants will greatly reduce the laser marking effect and clarity, so the proportion of laser marking additives should be significantly increased in the formula. Please consult customer service staff before purchasing.

6. Generally speaking, marking black on white plastics is based on the reaction of plastics carbonized and blackened due to high temperature, so low-power, low-frequency laser marking machine coefficients are used to set. The effect of marking white on black plastic is based on the foaming of the material due to high temperature. These small bubbles will bulge from the surface of the plastic and lighten the color, so a light-colored mark can be created. We would recommend using higher power when marking to make it appear white.
