1. Functions and Scope of Application
The insertion electromagnetic flow sensor (referred to as the sensor) and the electromagnetic flow converter (referred to as the converter) are paired with an insertion electromagnetic flowmeter (referred to as the flowmeter) to measure the volumetric flow rate of various conductive liquids in the pipeline.
The sensor has the following characteristics:
◆ The simple structure and lack of moving parts make for its reliability.
◆ The insertion structure allows it to be installed and disassembled without stopping water under low or normal pressure. It is, therefore, very suitable for flow measurement of existing pipes and easy to maintain and repair instruments.
◆ The measurement accuracy is unaffected by changes in physical parameters such as temperature, pressure, density, viscosity, conductivity (as long as conductivity is greater than 5µs/cm) of the medium under test.
◆ The sensor has almost no pressure loss and very low energy loss.
◆ The sensor is manufactured and installed at a lower cost than the general electromagnetic flowmeters. It is especially suitable for flow measurement in large and medium diameter pipelines.
◆ Advanced low-frequency square-wave excitation is adopted with stable zero point and strong anti-interference ability, ensuring reliable work.
◆ The flowmeter enjoys large range of measurement. The full-scale flow rate in the measured pipeline can be set arbitrarily from 1 m/s to 10 m/s, and the output signal has a linear relationship with the flow rate.
◆ The flowmeter has standard current output of 0~10 mA
◆DC or 4~20 mA
◆DC and frequency output of 1~5 kHz.
Since the flowmeter (the sensor) features such an array of merits mentioned above, it has been used widely in many industrial departments such as chemical industry, chemical fiber, metallurgy, chemical fertilizer, paper industry, water supply as well as drainage and sewage treatment. It also finds application in conductive liquid flow measurement for agricultural irrigation water metering and automatic control in the process of production.
2. Type and Composition of Products
The product is of insertion type, connected with the pipeline through mounting base, ball valve, press nut and positioning screw. Sensor measurement is divided into two structural types: tube type and plane electrode type. The former is suitable for measuring the clean medium, while the latter for measuring the liquid flow rate with other impurities in the medium.
